It remained unsealed until late in the afternoon when a hand of stalwart youngsters conquered its heights and claimed the fistful! of money. ANNUAL PICNIC! High upon a mountain top, amid whispering pines and cascading streams, the gala, once-a-year Du Pont Employee’s Picnic was held. Over a thousand people visited that portion of the Du Pont property known as the Guion farm. Lots of sunshine, games, prizes and food combined to make the picnic a smashing success. A multitude of prizes and the thrill of competition attracted hundreds of contestants in the diverse contests. I ti| .. A moment alone . . . and sweet romance. Gary Smith prepares his fortification. ^ A delight to on-lookers and par ticipants alike was the penny scramble for boys and girls 2-5 years old. Here children learned the frantic struggle for money that continues through later life.
